REGISTRATION: Every participant in Swim Hanoi's Sessions is required to complete the attached registration form prior to the first session. ONLINE REGISTRATION is now available on our website under the SWIM HANOI Registration tab.

PREPARATION: Please kindly make sure your child is prepared for the lesson. Talk to him/her about it throughout the week, explain that he/she will meet with other children and that he/she will have to listen carefully to the teacher. Let him/her know that it will be lots of fun, so that your child is looking forward to it.

SESSION TIME:  All sessions start promptly at the agreed time. Please arrive at least 10' minutes before the lesson (for the first time maybe even 15' minutes before will be better,to meet the instructor and the other kids outside of the water first) It is strongly recommended that children DO NOT enter the water prior to the beginning of the session as that will result in their body temperature being lowered and may affect their ability to fully participate during their actual session time. Should you choose to join your child in the water after the lesson has finished, you are kindly requested to do so in a manner that will not affect the following sessions. The Instructor will not be responsible for your child's safety in or outside the water, before the session's start or after the session has finished.

Running around the pool area is strictly prohibited.

ACCOMPANYING ADULTS: are required to remain at the pool area throughout the lesson to assist in case of any needs (child needing the bathroom, child feeling cold, goggle issues, unruly behaviour, etc) It is the responsibilty of the parent to change, towel dry and look after their children whenever they are outside the water. Accompanying adults are requested not to interfere in the session by talking to their children or the instructor. If there are any questions or other relevant issues that you may like to discuss with the Instructor, kindly arrange a mutually suitable time away from the pool area.

PRIOR TO THE LESSON: Kindly ensure your child has used the bathroom prior to entering the pool or is wearing a well fitted swimmer nappy if required.A bathing costume is essential. Rash vests are helpful but not required. For Learn To Swim Student's a pair of fins is useful. Children with long hair are kindly requested to tie their hair back out from their face. Swimming Caps are helpful but not required. It is strongly recommended that children DO NOT enter the water prior to the beginning of the session as that will result in their body temperature being lowered and may affect their ability to fully participate during their actual session time. The Instructor will not be responsible for your child's safety in or outside the water, before or after the session time.

GOGGLES: All children participating in Swim Hanoi sessions are required to wear a well fitted pair of goggles. It is the parents responsibility to ensure that children are comfortable in doing so and that their goggles fit correctly in their eye sockets.(If the eye piece doesn't fit right it won't matter how tight you make the straps.)

If your child is not happy wearing goggles, kindly ensure to help them practice wearing them regularly in the bathtub so that once sessions begin the child is ready. For more details on how to chose a pair of goggles that fit please see the attached video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3xgHJ1OcDo

LEVELS AND PACE: Remember that each child learns at his/her own pace and there is nothing less constructive than forcing a child to perform beyond their comfort level. Swimming is all about fun and trust, together we can help your child feel secure and happy within the aquatic environment. The rest will naturally follow. It may take up to 40 weeks for a child to reach a new level and it is up to the Instructor to choose the correct level in which the child will be placed according to their experience and abilities.

PAYMENT: Fees are for a cycle of 6 Sessions unless otherwise agreed.

Instructor's fees are paid up front, non-refundable and there are no individual make-up classes should your child miss a session. The entry fee to the pool is not included in the Instructor's fee and is set by the pool management. The entry fee to the pool is payable at the door of the selected swimming pool. Instructors will select the swimming pool for Summer and Winter sessions and will advise the students prior to each cycle.

Kindly place the fees inside an envelope with your child's full name clearly written on it and pass it to the Instructor at your child's first session. You may pay in USD or VND. Swim Hanoi uses a fixed exchange rate, which is decided at the beginning of each swimming season. You can find the current exchange rate under the Fees tab.
